Designer Estelle Briedis standing in front of graphic artwork

Celebrating the bold and the original.

Estelle specialises in creating bold, compelling artworks and design objects that pair function with unique eye-catching aesthetic.

Estelle Briedis is a Canberra-based surface designer and screen printer who specialises in creating original hand-drawn pattern designs paired with functional contemporary craft applications for the home.

Estelle's prints are developed through her ongoing studio-based research into surface pattern design, investigating the interaction of tessellating imagery and shapes within repeat pattern structures, formed through distorting reflective lenses.

Her focus on developing pattern designs to function within the traditional screenprinting method of repeat printing on fabric, immerses the viewer in the continuous rhythm of the surface structure. This rhythm is then distorted and changed, creating new structures to further demonstrate the limitless possibilities of surface ornamentation.
